Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting
NBTHK Hozon certificated (Well Preserved certificate)

A quality old Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE TOKYO. A complete set of antique Katana long sword and ornate mountings in super excellent condition. Authentic forged Tamahagane steel blade made by swordsmith Minamoto KIYOSHIGE in 1850s, late Edo "Shogun" period. Registered as Hozon paper "Preservation Sword" certificate by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society). No inscription on the blade, but the NBTHK is officially ascribing the blade to Minamoto (Araki) KIYOSHIGE's work. The great Choji-Midare wavy-tempered line pattern, with stunning Kinsuji (golden strip) and Suna-nagashi (a pattern of martensite) on the blade. Way too beautiful tempered line patten. Comes in a complete ornate mounting, including all fittings. The ornate mounting is from the same period as the blade, but the magnolia-wood scabbard has a repainted lacquer finish, applied long after it was finished.
The blade comes with a Certificate of NBTHK Japan Sword Preservation Society - Hozon Paper (Well-preserved sword)

*This number means that the blade is verified and registered as an authentic Japanese sword by the board of education and public safety commission.
