Very Long Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting
Meiji period 1860's
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificated (Extremely Well Preserved certificate)
Swordsmith: YOSHIYUKI
A quality and very long Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE Yokohama sword store. Antique Katana long blade made by the swordsmith Fujiwara YOSHIYUKI in Meiji era, 1860's. Inscription of the sword smith name Yoshiyuki, his location, and completion year (1869) are engraved on the tang. Extremely beautiful great wavy O-Gunome hamon tempered line pattern on blade. The length of the naked blade is 83.6cm, and the overall length of the ornate mounting is 129cm!! This long blade is guessed to have been made upon special request from samurai. Registered as TOKUBETSU Hozon paper "Extremely Well-Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society). The blade comes in a complete antique ornate including a very beautiful handle and Tsuba guard that has an engraved mark in Japanese says "govern the country".
The blade comes with Certificate of NBTHK Japan Sword Preservation Society - Tokubetsu Hozon Paper (Extremely Well preserved sword)

*This number means that the blade is verified and registered as an authentic Japanese sword by the board of education and public safety commission.
